Accuracy measures judgement value, not just hit percentage
For an osu!standard example containing only 100 hit circles, 90 GREATs and 10 OKs give (90 x 300 + 10 x 100) / (100 x 300) = 93.33% accuracy. All circles were hit, but some received less than full value. By contrast, 99 GREATs and one miss give 99% despite the combo break. This worked example is not a formula to apply blindly to slider events or another ruleset.
Zero misses does not always mean full combo
A maximum-combo result and a zero-miss result are not always interchangeable. Slider breaks or dropped ends can prevent maximum combo without appearing as ordinary circle misses, depending on the scoring rules. Community shorthand around dropped ends can also differ from the strict maximum-combo definition. Check the actual combo and slider judgements before labelling a play FC. A full combo is not automatically SS: lower-value judgements can still reduce accuracy.
A lower score can contain a useful improvement
Suggested comparison: attempt A has fewer lower-value judgements but one late-map combo break; attempt B has more lower-value judgements but a longer combo. Do not pick a universal winner from accuracy or score alone. For an accuracy exercise, compare timing judgements in the target section. For a consistency goal, compare repeated breaks across full plays. For a PP target, use the actual performance calculation rather than treating score or combo as a substitute.
Check completion and scoring context first
Before comparing totals, match difficulty, client, mods and rate. Check whether both attempts reached the same section. A 99% result that ended before the hardest pattern does not demonstrate better full-map accuracy than a 97% completion. Also distinguish a displayed score number from PP. When one result comes from another client or score-display mode, establish a compatible comparison before drawing a progression trend.
Use a result log that leads to a decision
For three full attempts, record accuracy, judgement counts, misses, maximum combo and the first troublesome section. Add a brief observation rather than only a final percentage: burst entry early, slider exit broken, or cause unclear. Next session, keep the settings fixed and compare that same observation. Continue the exercise when it improves repeatedly; change focus when another error becomes the limit. Keep the failed attempts visible so the comparison reflects typical play.
