Good sections, inconsistent full plays: build consistency

Compare section practice with complete attempts and identify repeatable breakdowns without relying only on personal bests.

01

Separate a fixed obstacle from scattered misses

Compare several complete attempts on the same setup. Repeated failures at one transition suggest a focused practice target. Misses distributed across otherwise manageable sections call for a broader comparison. Do not conclude that scattered misses are nerves or fatigue from the score alone; those explanations need more context than a replay can provide.

02

Track opportunities, not just errors

A section missed three times in three attempts is different from one missed three times in thirty attempts. Record how often you actually reached each section. Attempts that ended earlier should not count as successful runs through a later pattern. Keep the first-error location and completion status alongside accuracy so your review does not reward repeated early retries.

03

Practice: alternate sections and full attempts

Suggested exercise: take one baseline full attempt, practise a troublesome transition briefly, then return to a full attempt. Include the lead-in when isolating the section. Keep another map with similar demands in the session so you can test transfer. Use a small planned block rather than continuing until a lucky full combo hides the less consistent attempts.

04

Judge your typical play

Compare the middle result and the range of results across similar sessions, as well as your best. A narrower spread of miss counts or more frequent clean transitions can be useful progress before a new personal best appears. If your isolated success does not survive a full play, extend the lead-in or practise entering the section from different contexts rather than only adding repetitions.
